Extinguish All The Flaming Arrows

This is what I am saying in this video:

Jesus Christ is the word of God! The word of God is God Himself.

“In the beginning God” Genesis 1:1a NIV

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:1, 14 NIV

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.” Revelation 19:11-13 NIV

Hallelujah!

My friends, the word of God is all we have, means Jesus Christ is all we have.

It is our weapon. What kind of weapon? Listen:

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:13-17 NIV

Notice: All the armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the Gospel of peace and the shield of faith are weapons of self-defense; we defend ourselves from the attack of the evil, including our flesh (carnal personality). We have only one weapon of offense with which we can attack our enemies. That weapon is called the helmet of salvation, which is “the sword of the Spirit.” That is the word of God!

It is the helmet that protects our thoughts and imaginations so that we live for the glory of God where our ultimate joy and pleasures reside.

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NIV

Wow! Did you see that, “thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7 KJV If we let the word of God shape our hearts, our lives follow suit.

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NIV

Only the word of God can demolish the work of the devil, first from our thoughts.

When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, He won by saying this: “It is written: – – -” (Matthew 4), quoting a verse back at the devil. Yes, the devil comes to us with the half-truth of God and deceives us so that, for example, he makes us believe that watching porn and engaging in self-sex is the best way to protect sexual sanity or holiness. That is absurd! Yes, we become blind to the truth when the word of God doesn’t have a place in our hearts, minds and lives.

If Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, our Big Brother, fought against the devil quoting Scriptures, why do we go around thinking that somebody else may help us win our battles?

If we separate our lives from the word of God, we think that solutions for our problems, fears, anxiety, struggles and battles are found in human beings or some sort of Karma. Oh, my friends, the word of God is Jesus Christ Himself. Let’s hold on to Him!

When we don’t know the word, we know that we have no faith in God and we go everywhere but to God thinking that we find meaning and purpose for our lives.

““The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, – – – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” Romans 10:8, 17 NASB

May God open our spiritual eyes so that we can see this truth clearly! ///
