A Voice Calling Out

“A voice says, “Call out.”
Then he answered, “What shall I call out?”
All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
The grass withers, the flower fades,
When the breath of the Lord blows upon it;
The people are indeed grass!
The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:6-8

The word of God calls us as “grass” and all the things we call “beautiful” or “lovely,” the word of God calls them all “the flower of the field.” The grass withers and the flower fades away.

We wither and what we have fades away.

A hard truth we all struggle to accept because fooling ourselves with this passing world somehow gives us a false hope and we comfort ourselves with that.

We wither and that is not like our choice. We are withering while we read this post. No one can stop that withering process.

And the things we have, they are fading away too as we speak. It doesn’t matter what we have. They all are fading away.

However a voice is not sent by God to tell us about the one that never withers nor fades away:- the word of God!

Hmm!

Do you see that?

How we are attached to that which stands forever or to that which withers and fades away tells us who we are: we belong to this world or we belong to the world that is yet to come. ///
