May God Restore Our Sanity

Whenever I think of the Sovereignty of God and how important it is to know the Sovereignty of God for our own sanity, this is the one passage of the Bible that comes to my mind.

Please read it carefully! It is found in Daniel 4:29-37

“as the king[King Nebuchadnezzar] was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, he said, “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?”

Even as the words were on his lips, a voice came from heaven, “This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you. You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.”

Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird.

At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.

His dominion is an eternal dominion;
his kingdom endures from generation to generation.
All the peoples of the earth
    are regarded as nothing.
He does as he pleases
    with the powers of heaven
and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back his hand
or say to him: “What have you done?”

At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.” Daniel 4:29-37

Notice how King Nebuchadnezzar raised his eyes to heaven and realized that there was only ONE who governed and led the whole universe.

We can draw more than 10 full sermons from the King’s short conclusion about this Sovereign God:

“His dominion is an eternal dominion;
his kingdom endures from generation to generation.
All the peoples of the earth
are regarded as nothing.
He does as he pleases
with the powers of heaven
and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back his hand
or say to him: “What have you done?”” Verse 34-35

Wow!

Whether coronavirus or any virus, it it is only God who does as He pleases, not coronavirus. God does what He pleases with the power of heaven and the peoples of the earth.

There is no one above Him or close to Him.

Isn’t that comforting truth to know, hold and treasure in our hearts and souls? Yes, it is!

No, God does not need to answer to us, to explain why and what He is doing. No! He is God. What He wants us to know is that He knows those who trust in Him and He is good to the one who believes in Him, in death and/or life!

Praise God!

When we know and behold the Sovereignty of God, we live in His unfailing and tangible presence in all and every situation of our lives.

When we refuse to know the Sovereignty of God, we’ll be given over to all kinds of mysticism which put God equal to Santa Clause or St. Patrick. We follow all those shameful and shameless preachers who live as the enemy of the cross of Christ but show up on social media and claim that they have power over coronavirus.

Oh, Abba, forgive us all, please!

I deny all the gods that many false preachers made me to believe in the past and I hold on to the God of the Bible who is the Sovereign LORD! He has no equal or match.

Some people claim to believe in the God of the Bible but the moment you start a conversation about God, you will find out that their faith system is exactly like one of those Eastern Religions, such as Budah or confucianism, and here is the sad part, THEY DON’T KNOW IT! They still go to church and carry their Bible, call Jesus’ name every minute.

They say: “You know, there is a good god and there is a bad god and they always fight.”

Please, know this! God doesn’t fight with anyone because no one, no angel or power can fight Him.

Oh, how can I say this: THIS SOVEREIGN GOD IS BY HIMSELF! NO POWER OR AUTHORITY CAN STAND AGAINST HIM! HE IS FOREVER AND EVER ON HIS THRONE. No one can stand against that forever and ever!

And the Bible tells me, this powerful Sovereign LORD is my heavenly Father!

Then where do I go to look for comfort, joy, rest, and peace but to Him alone who is in control of everything! ///
