He Entrusted Himself to Him!

Peter writes:

“21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

22 “He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.”

23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.” 1 Peter 2:21-23

This passage carries the one secret of the sinless life of Jesus Christ:

When Jesus received all kinds of insults and sufferings, in response, He did one thing:

He entrusted Himself to Him [God] who judges justly.

Very easy to read that but doing it or living it out demands humility. I mean, Jesus could have retaliated and made threats that could have made His enemies disappear in thin air. But Jesus chose to submit to His Father’s will.

So, Jesus left us an example.

What kind of example?

When we suffer, not to panic or try to come up with a plan to escape the pain, but to entrust ourselves to God who judges justly.

When we do that, this is what we’re, in a way, saying to God:

LORD, I am not God; You are! I am not the Author of my life; You are. I am not the LORD of my life, You are. I am not the Captain of my life; You are.
So, have Your way in my life! I trust You.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3 ///
