Competent & Effective

After I watched the whole one hour and few minutes of the video I am sharing with you, I asked myself this:

“What would I say if I were in the meeting and to be given the mic to say something after Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s speech?”

I answered my question saying, well, I would say,

“ንጉሥ ሆይ:- ቀጥሉ እርሶ ይናገሩ:: እኔማ ምን አፍ አለኝ!”

Hmm!

How can anybody has anything to say after that speech? I am not really sure!

Feeling of unworthiness and shame before God may make me say as Job said, “I put my hand over my mouth.”

So, I am sharing this video with you all who can understand Amharic to LISTEN to the first 32.36 minutes carefully.

I especially recommend this video to those of you, young men, that the Holy Spirit is grooming to make you ministers, leaders and preachers of the church, His bride.

Please listen to Dr. Abiy’s speech and ask yourself how you can be an effective servant of God. Get the basics from his speech.

Dr. Abiy mentioned, more than once, Immamnuel Kant, the 17th century German philosopher.

Yes, a man of God, a teacher of the word of God, has to study philosophy.

Philosophy means: “(from Greek “philosophia,” literally “love of wisdom”) is the study of general and fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.”

And a man of God should study sociology, “the study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society.”

And a man of God who teaches the word of God should also have some back ground knowledge on psychology: “the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behavior in a given context.”

Why?

If you read the word of God carefully, you will know that the root of all these studies, philosophy, sociology and psychology, is actually the word of God itself.

And having training in these disciplines will make you effective communicator and teacher of the word of God who is competent to teach and expose the word of God to the educated as well as to the uneducated.

Otherwise, you will be “a fortune teller.” ///
