Where Were You

You know, I have been thinking and reflecting on 2018 for the last three or four weeks.

And to tell you the truth, I am very thankful that this year is ending. Oh, yes, I am!

This morning I had a wonderful time with the Holy Spirit and I was thrilled to know that God saw me through so many dark nights over this year. Oh, how faithful is our God! Yes, He is!

A number of times, I complained and asked God, “Where were You, God, when this and that happened to me?” But He made it clear for me once again that He had always been there, He never left my sight.

Jesus never leaves nor forsakes those who trust in Him. Hallelujah!

So, as you and I are getting ready to say goodbye to 2018 and welcome 2019, let’s all be thankful of 2018, knowing that through it all, God had been there for us, seeing us all through. That is why we are here today. Praise God!

I love this song, “Where Were You,” by FRANCESCA BATTISTELLI, and I want to share it with you. Please let’s all listen to the song and think how many times we doubted God but regardless of our unbelief, God proved Himself to us as He came through and rescued us from all the traps of our enemies. Praise God!

Here is the lyrics:

Calling and calling, nobody home
It feels like I’m falling alone
Out on an Island, there’s a voice on the beach
Watching your plane pass over me

How could You miss me?
With my hands in the air
I thought You were listening
I thought You’d be there!

Where were You?
When I had no one to turn to
Where were You?
When my worst fears were coming true
Where were You?
I thought you’d come to my rescue
Where were You?

One set of footprints, on the path I’d been on
But You say You’ve been here all along, oh
If you really loved me, like nobody else
Why was I walking through hell

How could You miss me?
With my hands in the air
I thought You were listening
Oh, I thought You’d be there!

Where were You?
When I had no one to turn to
Where were You?
When my worst fears were coming true
Where were You?
I thought You’d come to my rescue

When my prayers bounced off the ceiling
I was facing down my demons
When my legs gave up beneath me
And I fell into Your arms

Where were You?
When I had no one to turn to
You carried me through
On your shoulders, black and blue
I never knew
The footprints in the sand were You
Were You

One set of footprints, on a path I’d been on
Now I know they were Yours all along. ///

P. S. Here is my personal opinion and disclaimer: Please don’t assume that I am endorsing The Shack movie when I share this song with you even if this song is a featured soundtrack for The Shack movie. I don’t recommend this movie to anyone who “follows” Jesus Christ to watch because it is not biblical. I am only recommending the song to you to listen.
