What About You?

I enjoy being in Christ. Oh, yes, I do!

In the middle of a conversation or handling major issues, I hear my soul singing, “I belong to Jesus!”

For how long will I be in Jesus?

O! Forever!

Why did I, a dead person, become a new creature that is destined to live with Christ forever and ever? (2 Corinthians 5:17)

I don’t know!

The only thing I know is the word of God and the word of God says: “You did not choose me, but I chose you” (John 15:16a)

Did you hear that? He chose me, I didn’t choose Him. I mean, how could I choose Him? I was dead, my friend. A person is dead without Christ because the word of God says, ” Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:12)

How can a dead person call on Jesus? How can Lazarus, who was dead and buried, call on Jesus? (John 11) How can he choose Jesus? He simply can’t because he is dead.

It is the same thing with me.

My question is why did Jesus choose to call me from the dead in the first place? To give me a new birth? (Ephesians 2:1; Colossains 2:13; 1 Peter 1:3) I don’t know.

This question lives with me 24/7 and it always intrigues me because I sometimes struggle to even accept and love me, you know what I mean? Then this question of why did this Creator of the universe, a holy and majestic God choose to call me kind of question bothers me.

Not only that but He also loved me first. Why? I don’t know!

“We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19)

Sometimes I feel like crying but I know that my tears won’t give me answers but you know, one day, when I see Him face to face, I will find answers to all my questions (1 Corinthians 13:12). Till then, I will just enjoy being chosen and loved by Jesus Christ.
