As Google Maps Does

GPS (the Global Positioning System) is a system that tells us where a certain address is located on this earth. We enter the address of our destination and the GPS will show us exactly how to get there. It gives us a step-by-step direction.

GPS has been around for sometimes now but haven’t you seen people who have GPS on their phone or car but don’t even know where they’re driving to?

When you first see them, you assume that they know where they’re going; then when you see them stopping at every half mile to ask someone where to find a certain place, you’re like, “Buddy, you have GPS right at your fingertips. Why don’t you use it?”

Sometimes we all are like that, aren’t we?

While we have the word of God in our hands, we choose to get lost in the middle of life. We take time to worry but we don’t take time to see through the Scriptures to see the step-by-step “direction” the word of God gives us to get to the place we want to get.

It is good to dream about that “dream land” but if we don’t know how to punch in the address of that “dream land” in the GPS of our life, which is the word of God, and see how to get there, we will be lost.

So, let’s pick up our Bible, the GPS of our life, and navigate through life according to the direction it gives us. But we first need to rest assured that the Bible never makes a mistake. We shouldn’t ever think that the Bible tells us to make a U-turn in the middle of a busy highway as Google Maps does once in a while.

Oh, no, never! The word of God never leads us into chaos and confusion but ALWAYS to life. But if we don’t read the word of God, meditate on it day and night and give ourselves to it so we live according to it, our feelings and emotions will be our GPS.

When our spouses drive us nuts, our emotion and feelings say, “Enough is enough! File a divorce!” When a cute half naked girl tries to flirt with a single man, his emotion and feelings say: “Ask her number, then we will give you further step-by-step instruction.”

Yeah, we broken and wretched people desperately need our “life GPS”, the word of God, all the time, day and night.

“Your word I have treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11) ///
