The Power of Words

It is amazing how many times the word of God warns us the danger of not guarding our mouth and tongue. Here are some of the warnings:

“Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.” (Proverbs 13:3)

“Those who guard their mouths and their tongues
keep themselves from calamity.” (Proverbs 21:23)

“For,“Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.”” (1 Peter 3:10; Psalm 34:12-13)

“The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.” (James 3:6)

In my marriage, since I am the one with lots of words and a desire to speak 24/7, the following two biblical prayers are my number one prayers ever:

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14 NASB)

“I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;
hear me when I call to you.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;
keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalm 141:1-3 (NIV)

Yeah, may He set a guard over our mouths so we don’t destroy our marriages and relationships with our own mouth (tongue)!

By the way, this video message is all about guarding our mouth so we protect our lives, marriages and every relationship we have. ///

P. S. God willing, this video will soon be captioned in English.
