Which Deal Did You Close Today?

When I shop for something, I look for a good deal. I am not that good at finding the best deal though; my kids do a much better job in that regard. I don’t know if I’m technologically challenged or something, they always end up saying, “Mom, why did you go to their shop? They have the best deal on their online shop?

Oh, well, I still believe in going to a shop, on my feet, seeing the item on my naked eyes. Remember? I’m not a millennial.

But I do try my best to find a good deal and when I find one, I close the deal right there. I don’t joke around.

In life, it is the same thing. This world, our flesh and the enemy, they make a deal with us, saying, “Take this and you will get that.”

God makes a deal with us too.

But with God, the deal goes something like this: “I am the best Deal that you can ever find. I am all you need!”

Listen to one of Jesus’ best parables: “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” (Matthew 13:44)

You know which part of this verse is my favorite? – “When a man found it,” – The kingdom of God is something we all can find. I love it very much!

And this man found it, then hid it “again,” – again means it was hidden in the first place; so when he found it, he hid it because it is a precious, priceless deal for him and he sold everything else he had. Why? He didn’t need them anymore.

Hmm! Marvelous, isn’t it?

It is good for all of us to know when we close a deal. Let me show you how this closing a deal looks like in my morning hours.

So, I’m a morning person. I always wake up around 5am. And when I wake up in the morning, I have four deals to choose from: Flesh says, “Sleep a little more and finish your nice dream and you will also be rested.” The enemy also suggests, agreeing with the flesh: “Your flesh is absolutely right. What’s the rush? After all, what did you get out of yesterday’s prayer? Nothing! You live by grace not by work, right? So, you may as well enjoy your sleep and the rest of your day.” And this world says, “The weather is bad! There is nothing to be excited about today. Just sleep.” (Notice whose deal sounds spiritual)

Holy Spirit says, “I wait for you in your prayer closet. Come and rest at My feet. I’m the Spring of Life. Seek my face before the day breaks, and I will break everything that stands on your way. I will give you your enemy’s back. Just let Me see your face.” (Notice the love, the intimacy and the compassion)

Which deal do you think I would like to close? No brainer!

But, yes, sometimes I choose to be a knucklehead and fall for the other deals and suffer the consequences.

So, which deal did you choose to close today? Did you choose like a lover of God or like a – – -? ///
