“We Were”, Not “We Are”

Don’t you love the Truth of God! I do! It frees us from the bondage and condemnation of sin!
The truth frees us from shame and guilt. Praise God!

“And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:11)

So, we are no more “They are,” but “They were.”

You can add in that whatever sin that describes your past life, such as: I was a fornicator; I was a porn addict; I was an alcoholic; I was a prostitute; I was a homosexual; I was an adulterer and more.

But now, I am not! Praise God!

However, some “not good” stories might be lingering in our present lives, but soon, as we abide in Him and He in us (John 15:7), they will be listed under our “They were” stories. This is what the journey of holiness, sanctification, looks like.

Aren’t you thankful and grateful for the truth of God? I’m! May His name be praised forever! ///
