My Little Sister Surprised me with this

Yes, I’m still in London.

And I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this to you but I have two sisters who live in London.

So, yesterday night, my little sister took out this picture I’m sharing with you all and gave it to me. I thought I lost this picture a long time ago.

It is the day I’ve received water baptism. My very first pastor, Pastor David Jireh, is the one you see standing next to me. It was Feb, 1992. Time flies, doesn’t it!

I was baptized in the Holy Spirit a week before this water baptism day. I know, most people get baptized by water first and then by the Holy Spirit. Oh, well, who can tell God what to do and when, in what order? No one!

A Message that Warmed My Heart

I’ve been receiving different encouraging messages from many people since last Saturday. I thank God for each and every one of you who took time to drop me beautiful messages. You London Christians, I am not sure how to thank you. May the LORD bless all of you! But please remember this: there is nothing good in me but Christ. So, I give Him all the glory, worship and praise.

Well, from all the messages I’ve received so far, one message stood out to me. It is sent from one of the young adults I ministered on Sunday and Monday and I wanted to share the message with you all. So, I asked her permission. Listen how this young and beautiful girl responded back, “Yes of course you can post it if you feel it is at all beneficial.”

Don’t you love that! I do! Thank you my friend for giving me permission.

With this note, I want to share with you one better picture I posted yesterday. So, here we go:

The Young Adults Ministry of the London church

Seriously, if you are single (a born-again Christian) living somewhere on this planet earth and looking for someone to marry, just come to London and join the ECFC. I’m not kidding here. These young and vibrant people impressed me a lot.

Their respectful manner, their attention throughout the program, I mean, sitting and listening to me for hours, their brilliant questions (which reminded me that they are British) AND, their beautiful British “ACCENT,” left me speechless.

Their humble minister, Dr. Epherm, the one you see kneeling down just in front of me, kept on reminding me saying, “Missy, these people are British. They don’t do that; or they don’t say that.”

Today is our 19th Wedding Anniversary

Yes, today, Sunday, March 27, 2016, is Easter and today marks my 19th wedding anniversary with my Berhan (my husband). Praise the LORD!

Yes, I’m still in London, worshiping God with wonderful people of God. And today, I made a three-minute long video of “Happy Anniversary” greetings to my Berhan in front of the Sunday church congregation. I was planning to share that clip with you all but unfortunately there is some technical problem with the video.

As soon as the problem gets fixed, I sure share the clip with you.

Happy Easter!

He Has Risen 2

Happy Easter to all of you, who celebrate Easter today, from all of us Appeal for Purity Team!

Jesus has risen from the dead. He did it all for us. Because of what Jesus Christ did on the Cross, we became citizens of heaven. Praise Him! ///

Good Friday

Good Friday is the day we remember the cruel death of Jesus Christ.

Why is that Friday, the day Jesus was brutally beaten up and put to death, called Good?

It was the Friday God chose to pour out all His wrath on His Son. God was happy that His Son was the One to fulfill His will but at the same time, it was the day God the Father turned His face away from His Son, the One He loved. So it was a good but sad Friday for God the Father.

Hey, listen to this.

“Life is a fight – – -“

“Life is a fight for territory and once you stop fighting for what you want, what you don’t want will automatically take over.”
~ Les Brown

Know that you are stopping to fight for territory when you stop kneeling down in prayer before the Creator of the universe; stop reading and meditating His Word and stop fellowshipping with sisters and brothers in Christ. ///

Therefore Encourage One Another

“A fool is a man all of whose plans end at the grave. When the coffin lid closes, all his hopes are ended.”

But the one, who puts his faith and hope in the Son of God, does everything in this life in a way that brings glory and honor to Jesus Christ. So, when the coffin lid closes, his plans to glorify His Lord and Savior for eternity continues.

So, Paul said this to those kinds of people: “Therefore encourage one another with these words.”

What words? Listen:

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

The above words can only be sources of comfort for those who do life in the here and now in a way that brings glory and honor to Jesus Christ. Otherwise they mean absolutely nothing. ///

Regarding Yesterday’s Post

I see that yesterday’s post struck some kind of a responsive chord with some people. I’m glad it did because I got a chance to hear from people I have never heard from. At the same time, I see that some people, rightly so, were very upset with the way the post was presented thinking that the young girl who humbly sought advice was slapped on the face from every direction.

So, I want to clear the air a bit, if I may.
Well, first thing first: I really want to appreciate and thank the people who are working very hard day and night behind this page. It is not easy to run this page (or any page for that matter); cleaning up those malicious and disrespectful comments by itself takes a toll on someone. So, kudos to the A4P team!

What are we becoming into?

A4P Guest: I’m 25 years old and I’ve been chatting with this man for almost one year now. I think I can say that we are dating even though we are dating online. He lives in America and I live in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He is 29 years old. We pretty much talk almost everyday on Facebook or Viber and sometimes on Skype if I find good Internet connection. Now we are kind of agreeing to get married. We both are born again Christians and we want to do dating and marriage according to God’s will. I’m dropping you this message today because of one issue. Few months ago, we started to talk about sex, how we both had never been sexual with another person and all. Then one thing led to the other, now we are talking about sex almost every day. And last week he asked me to send him – – – pictures of me. Do you think it is wrong to talk about sex and send – – – pictures to the man I am planning to marry?”
