“Revelation Road”

Our kids went to school today after a weeklong break, thanks to winter storm Jonas!

So, to make our last day of this unexpected break a memorable one, my family and I spent yesterday night watching Part 2 of a movie called “Revelation Road”. We watched Part 1 last Thursday night.

Did we buy these movies? No, we didn’t. We “subscribed” to Pureflix Entertainment; a Christian film production company. If you subscribe to their service, they give you one month free subscription and if you like it, you will continue with them for $7.99 a month (just like Netflix – the difference is Pureflix only streams Christian movies where Christian moral values are respected and honored). I think I see myself continuing with them because these Christian movies are life changing.

Yesterday night as we watched Revelation Road we were struck on the face by the fact that Jesus is indeed coming soon, AS IT IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE, rapture will happen any minute and some professed Christians are not going to go to heaven because they are not real converts; they come to church and lead their lives as they like.

If you are not thinking about heaven that much lately, this movie will help you think about it.

The Bible says, “ Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

For instance, an adulterer, according to the Bible, is a person who is having sex outside marriage (the whole Bible talks about it); or, a person who is looking and lusting after a person he/she is NOT married to (Matthew 5:28); or a person who is alluring another married person out of their marriage and sleeping with them declaring that they are officially married. (1 Corinthians 5; Matthew 5:32)

This and all the aforementioned sinful lifestyles, such as fornication and homosexuality, might be found in the story of our past lives (1 Corinthians 6:11); but if they mark our lifestyles today, they will put our eternal destiny in question. God doesn’t joke around with His Word and His Son’s blood. He does as He said in His word because God is not a respecter of a person but a respect of His own Word. Let’s not deceive ourselves. Going to church five times a week won’t cut it; what makes us citizens of heaven is receiving the Cross of Christ by faith and turning away from our sin by His grace (Titus 2:11-14).

“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and RENOUNCES them finds mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13) ///
