A4P Guest: You always advise us to go to church but what kind of church do you advise us to go to?
A4P: I advise you what I advise myself. For me personally, I become a member of a church which has the following basic seven faith statements:
- Believes that Jesus came as a human being and died on the cross for our sin, resurrected from death, ascended to heaven and will be back soon to take those who belong to Him (1 Tim. 3:16)
- Believes that one must be born-again by the Spirit of God to have an eternal life (John 3:5)
- Believes that Jesus is the Son of God, the Christ, the Messiah (one of the trinity – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) (Matthew 3:17; 17:5; John 14:7, 9)
- Believes that salvation comes by “faith alone” in Jesus Christ and Him crucified not by work (Eph. 2:8)
- Believes that Jesus is the only Mediator and Intercessor there is between man and God (1 Tim 2:5)
- Believes in the infallible truth of the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
- Believes in the Holy Spirit’s indwelling of believers (1 Cor. 3:16)
While I go to church, I always remind myself that there is no perfect church on this earth because a church is made up of people like me, a person who is very far away from being perfect. ///
