Freedom of Speech on Social Media

I heard the news on my way back from my kids’ basketball game yesterday night. I wanted to write this before I went to bed because I was totally “SPENT.” So, as usual, I prayed so that God would give me this day to write about it. Praise the LORD! God gave this day!

So, on the news yesterday, they said that freedom of speech had to be “reevaluated” once more “because some people are using social media to “target and assault” individuals.” The lady who was interviewed (from my memory, not word by word) said, “Facebook and other social media are targeting, for example, women.”Well, as you all know, I am a woman. So, I increased the volume to hear how people attack me using these social media. The lady continued saying that people, who are speaking against abortion on social media, are attacking women directly. She is a spokesperson for one of the abortion clinics here in the US. I believe by now, thanks for all the social media God provided, more women are aware of the drama and business behind all the abortion clinics. So, more and more women are choosing to let their babies live. So the number of their customers is going down. So, now here they are trying to get more women to come to their clinic to “abort” their babies so that they can make more “mula!” How to do it? How else than silencing us who are writing on social media!

Well, I’m not sure when and how this fight is going to take away our freedom of speech on social media but I know that I still have that freedom. Today, Tuesday, December 02, 2014 at 8am, I checked the news and that freedom of speech on social media is still on.

So, I decided to exercise my freedom of speech, neither to attack nor assault and target anyone, but to share the truth I know to be true; the truth I hold dearly; the truth I am commanded by the Bible, as a believer of Jesus Christ, to share with others so that others may have what I have, peace and joy in Jesus Christ.

So, before they silence me, while my social media freedom of speech lasts, let me share with you the three most important life issues of the 21 century:

  1. Salvation is only through Jesus Christ. As it is written in the Bible, Acts 4:12, salvation, being saved from the eternal damnation, is found in no one else except Jesus Christ. He who has Jesus, as it is written on 1 John 5:12, has life; whoever does not have Jesus does not have life. If you’ve never invited the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart, now is the time to do so. Just call on His name and say, “Come to me, Lord Jesus! I accept and believe what you did on the Cross of me. Forgive me of all my sins. From now on You are my Lord and Savior.” That is what “accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior” means. As the Bible says, “For those who receive Him” God gave them the right to be His Children! (John 1:12) – Wonderful mercy and grace in Jesus Christ!
  1. Abortion stops a beating heart of a human being. Abortion while it may seem it frees a woman from a responsibility of raising her own child; it may make her a prisoner of her own guilt and fear for not letting her own son or daughter live. The Bible says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,” Jeremiah 1:5a and on Psalm 139:13, it says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Yes, every beating heart is a human being; formed in God’s own hand in His own image. If we are women who are blessed by God to carry a baby in our womb, let’s give our baby a chance to live! We will never regret! Our act, means the fact that we’ve decided to have sex might be a mistake but the baby in our womb is not a mistake. Let’s choose life over death! We will never regret! If we’ve already done abortion, as Jesus said to that woman, “Don’t sin no more” (John 8:11), let’s not do it again as a sign of our repentance. In the meantime, we shouldn’t let our past sin hold us back from embracing the forgiveness and grace we have in Jesus and our freedom to tell others about it. Let’s speak the truth about abortion to those who have never done it before but are in the process of contemplating to do it, thinking that they would be free. Let’s tell them that there is no freedom after abortion; only depression, fear, despair, regret, guilt and more.
  1. Marriage is between one man and one woman; outside this, it is sinful. The Bible says, “- – – Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, – – – inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NASB) If we are homosexuals, we should know that we are living in sin; separated from God. But the good news is, God’s forgiveness is here with us. We can go to Him and get washed by the Blood of Jesus. Paul was actually writing 1 Cor. 6 to the people who were fornicators, adulterers and homosexuals, JUST LIKE US. That is why he said on the following verse, “Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:11 – Jesus’ blood can cleanse us from all kinds of sin and justify us “as if” we didn’t do a thing! Let’s call on His name and be cleansed from our sin.

As the day goes from bad to worse, let’s not stop speaking the truth on the mountains and on the valleys because many people are listening and coming out of the darkness! While our freedom of speech on social media is still well secured, let’s use it to snatch others from the devil’s grip! Let’s proclaim the truth because only the truth can set the prisoners free! ///
